In 2001, the VW bus club I was president of at the time decided it was time to host our first large event. In preparation for that, I contacted VW Trends Magazine in southern California. They said that if I wrote an article and provided a selection of images, they would consider it for publication. It was my first time writing an article for a national publication, but the experience was positive and led to a few more articles for VW Trends before they unfortunately folded a couple years ago. With a first article already under my belt, this one came easier, but I still felt like I needed to not write the same type of article.
