Welcome to Taylor Nelson Creations! My own little slice of the interwebs. My place to show off my work and my skills in the hopes that you find them the perfect match for what you need to accomplish. Whatever that goal is, I can help you achieve it!

By trade and with great passion, I am a writer and editor. I am the guy who reads the backs of cereal boxes in the morning and who also cringes when he walks into the local barbecue joint with the sign out front that reads "NOW OPEN SUNDAY'S!" I believe that good writing, proper grammar, and using the most correct words creates the most professional content you can hope to convey to your audience. Unfortunately, the internet and text messaging has made us all (myself included) lazy when it comes to writing well. To an extent, that's okay. It all depends on your audience and what you're trying to achieve.

As early as high school, I knew I was going to be an English major. There was no question in my mind. I'm an avid reader and writer. It was the logical direction for me. I graduated from San Jose State University with my B.A. in English and went right into teaching high school English. While teaching definitely had its rewards, the state of education in California is frustrating to say the least and I eventually left to find a new career path. I still care deeply about the education of our youth, however!

I found myself on a road that took me through the most amazing Technical Communications program in the world. The Tech Writing program at De Anza College provided that new path for me and I expanded my knowledge of good writing and great editing by leaps and bounds! One of the most enjoyable projects in that program was to redesign the curriculum for the Technical Editing elective course. It was offered the very next quarter and did very well with the students!

Today I find myself on the hunt for a position in which I can use my skills, excel to new heights, and help the company for whom I work create the best content out there! Over the years and over the positions I've held, I've amassed a number of additional skills. I know HTML, I'm proficient in Photoshop, I'm good at email marketing (along with social media marketing), I have great customer service experience, and I can even help clear a container of goods through customs.

Please, enough rambling about myself. Take a look through my website, see some of my work, and if you've questions or would like to chat about what it is you're looking to accomplish, contact me!
